The New IK Is Here! The New IK Is Here!

...to paraphrase a line from a Steve Martin movie. I got mine today in the mail and literally snatched it from the hands of my mail carrier. Then I shouted "Woo-hoo!" before he could get off the porch. He must have thought, and he wouldn't be far off, that I had gone insane.

I am the sort that really looks forward to sitting down with my IK. So much so, that for me the online preview is a spoiler of nearly the page-596-of-Half-Blood-Prince variety. If that's the way you feel, stop reading now!

I haven't read the articles closely, just flipped through the patterns. But I was impressed. There were a few miscues, I thought -- bandeaux are never going to be a hit with me, even if they are loaded with cables, and I don't love the Hip Hop coat. But I really liked these sweaters and what a sweet pair of socks. And hats, so many hats! What timing!

So, what do you think?

Oooh, I'm so jealous of your mail delivery. I have a PO box at a very small town post office and we don't pick our mail up everyday. The postmaster does call me though whenever there's something knitting-related to pick up, especially IK. I hope she calls Monday! I could get lost in the yarn picture in your previous post.

Wwaaahhh! Mine's not here yet either. Although I really have no right to complain...within the space of three days, I gifted myself Last Minute Gifts and Scarf Style. Which I had been visiting at Borders for months now, and petting and stroking. So, I gots lots of eye candy now.

Laura!!!! Were we, like, separated at birth? I freaking LOVE The Jerk! My favorite quote is "I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray.... And this paddle game, the ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need....."

Really. There's a quote for every occasion. I love that movie so much.

Ooooooh!! So many knitting mags I should subscribe to, really. That's all I need. And this remote control.

My enabler, oops, friend Chris brought some by last night at our knitter's guild, so I had to buy one. I'm with you on the halter top/bandeau thing. Not going to happen. I really like that two-tone sweater, and the Pearl Buck cardigan, but the Mukluks? Cute idea, but that Foxy stuff is $28/skein, and it needs 6...may as well buy the real deal...

I got mine yesterday, too, but I haven't picked it up yet - can you believe it? I'm just SOOO WIP-infested that I thought it would be best to put it on ice for a bit. I'm guessing I won't make it another day, though...

And I love your new banner - do I recognize the cable from KepLaura?

Yay!! Sounds like it's time for me to head down to Border's and stalk the personnel to see if their IK has arrived. I know, I know, I really need to just get a subscription already!! I keep thinking, hmmm, maybe I won't like the next issue, but that has yet to happen. ;-) I was a very good girl and didn't click on the links (so tempted, though!)...no spoiler for me! :-)

I keep meaning to subscribe... I guess I'll have to do it before I end up paying full cover price at the newstand. do you think if I subscribe now they'll send me the magazine before it actually goes on sale in a couple of weeks in store?

I totally agree with you on your jacket favorites. I saw them on the preview site and am drooling. Just need to check my stash spreadsheet to see if I have yarn for it yet, or they'll just have to go in the queue. Thanks for the spoilers!

BTW, I'm reading HP6 right now and am resisting the urge to turn right now to page 596.
