Ever Have One of Those Days?

One of those where the accretion of annoyances and things-gone-wrong, both little and big, make you think you must be wearing a "Kick Me" sign that is visible to the entire cosmos?*

Well, when that happens, I highly recommend, after yanking that sign off your back and flinging it back in the face of the cosmos with elan, looking at all your pretty new yarn.

Yarntini Hand Dyed Sock Yarn in Vintage

Yarn Nerd 900 MHz Merino Superwash in Teal Semi-Solid (for a swap)

Madeline Tosh Hand-Dyed Sock in Jade

* The new job is actually going well, thank you all for asking! Nevertheless...

And I'm sure you did just that with elan, not with Elann as I first thought!

Lovely yarn can soothe the most ruffled soul, and you've got some nice yarn there! I hope today goes better for you.

That is all incredible stuff. The Yarntini strikes me as especially "you"--what will you do with it?

I've been having one of those months. Or three months, to be more accurate. I think I'll pet the pretty alpaca yarn tonight after work!

Oh, I was hoping the week would go well...it can't be too horrible if yarn can solve your problems, but hope it gets better soon.

Totally gorgeous. Sometimes, this is just what yarn is for. Squeezing it also helps, I've found.

Oh, and I'm so glad to hear the job is going well! xo

One of those people who does such things ought to do a study of how fondling yarn affects heart rate, blood pressure, and stress level. I seem to get almost the same benefits from petting my yarn as I do from petting my dogs--and with lots less drool.

Oof--sorry to hear it hon. Glad that the job is going well despite this post, but sad to think that there's something else causing strife that isn't the stress of a new job!

I gotta get me summadat madeline tosh.

I love the way you write about things, Laura! Hope things are going a little better now. Can't wait to see what all that gorgeous yarn turns into!

I've (finally) nearly finished my first pair of socks, and am so looking forward to knitting with that blue Gloss you sent me over a year ago. I still treasure it and will let you know when it's on the needles. Hugs xx
